Celestial Stick People: a Tarot deck by Brian Crick

Tarot is frequently associated with mysticism, but at its most basic level, it's just a tool for organizing your thoughts.

As far as I'm concerned, there's nothing magical here; these little pieces of paper cannot help you tell the future, and you don't need any kind of spiritual connection to the cards to use them.

To use the Tarot cards, you just look at pictures and think about what they mean to you. It's like an inkblot test.

Suppose I presented you with this image and said to you, this is your future.

Obviously, I don't know who you are, reading this web page, and I cannot actually see your future. But imagine for a moment that this image really was picked just for you.

Maybe you're thinking that you deserve a nice vacation on the beach, where you can relax and sip on fruity beverages with little paper umbrellas in them. You're thinking about how you can make this vacation real, instead of just a daydream.

Or maybe you're thinking about a friend who's hiding from their problems, living a life of thoughtless self-indulgence. They're trapped in their current situation, and you're trying to figure out how to help them.

Or maybe it's time for a drink at the local bar. Who knows? There's no right answer.

If you're thinking about any of these things, or you're thinking concretely about something else, then the Tarot is doing its job.
